Wow did Ohio State stink it up last night or what? Ginn had that one good play (kick return) and then decided to nurse his female parts the rest of the night. Good for him his team was crumbling on both sides of the ball. Way to go making the opponent look better than they are.

I hate both of these teams, and with Shannon at the helm for the Canes the Gators can look forward to being the second best team in Florida from now on out.

According to Yahoo it's to be Randy Shannon at the helm of the ship. Our defense has been among the best in the nation during his tenure. He won a national title as a linebacker. He has been at UM for 20 years. He is the man, and now he's the head coach. Lets see how we fair on recruiting and give him our support for the first season. It's up to Randy to prove it now that he's got it. We had to promote him to keep him, and we could not afford to lose him. He wanted it and he got it. Good luck Randy. Congratulations.

We have been a fan of Bob Stoops for a while now. Stoops is good big name target for the canes and some people claim he has ties to South Florida. I am not sure what those ties are but this is all just a rumor for now.

Does anyone remember the last time the Sooners played for the title?
Oklahoma beat FSU in 2000 to win the National Championship. After the game Bobby Bowden made a statement as he left the field, he said it should have been Miami playing Oklahoma. Lucky for the Sooners it was not Miami or the answer to this questions would be 1985.

In the wake of the USC losing to UCLA (as I predicted, USC sucks) the question becomes Florida or Michigan? I do not really want to watch Michigan lose to Ohio State again, and to put Florida in the National Championship game is a little cruel. Florida is likely to get beat 60 to zero. Think of it like this; would you put the professional boxer in the ring with a middle school girl?

Ivan Maisel and Mark Schlabach over at the ESPN had predicted that Miami would end up in the MPC Computers Bowl. Click here to see their 2006 Bowl Game matchups. There was talk about heading out to Cali for the Emerald Bowl but saw an interview where the rep from the Emerald Bowl said the he would prefer Florida State seeing how they won against The U. I was very happy to see FSU end the season as poorly as we did. I love Bowl games but Miami vs. Nevada. It is probable a good way for Coker to leave, we get to kick the crap out of Nevada and he can showcase his skills (if he remembers to bring them).

I thought bowl games we about matchups. If you want to pack stadium how about Miami vs. Florida State in the Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando or the Gator Bowl in J-ville?

It was fun in the beginning. We had our good times, but when the honeymoon ended it became clear that we are just too different. Coker, I hope you find success and happiness wherever you go. I would recommend more of a Midwestern situation. The U thanks you for the 2001 National title and that 2002 national title that we were robbed on. It has been bad between us for a while, but now that it is over I can say thanks for the good, it wasn't all bad. Bon Voyage.

I could not control myself during the game, I was like a school girl jumping up and down in excitement. I almost forgot what it felt like to win.

Larry Coker, nice win. A lot of things in life are all about the right time and place. Larry is a great coach and I am sure his future will be bright. He should take some time off before jumping into another coaching job.

To the team: great job, we have a lot to work on but you deserve this, and a win is a win.

Shalala has put herself in a tough spot. Will she let this win blind her judgment on the Coker issue? Has her indecision hurt our recruiting? I personally believe that is one of the areas that Coker needs help on. We need to act fast, we do not want to loose any top recruits to Florida or other coaches by dragging out feet now. After the game Coker was commenting on recruiting this Sunday?

The words that keep echoing in my head are comments by Gino Torretta during the game. He stated that while standing on the Hurricanes sidelines he felt that team was missing something...The overwhelming desire to win football games. Many might refer to that as the Miami swagger, well lets go win bowl game and get some swagger back.

Sometimes in order to get getter you need to get worse. This season while painful to watch was a necessary step in the rebuilding process. If it was just another ho hum 9-3 season it would have taken us another year or 2 before Coker was fired. The damage is done and the season is over; I only hope we can come away from thanksgiving without having out nutz kicked in on national television.

allcanes, here in cane nation we want every game to end in victory but if losing a game will get us Spurrier or get Coker out faster then we need to take one for the team (especially when we have already had the worst season in 30 years).

Coker was asked about the Spurrier rumor and his response was, no one told me I was fired yet. Wow, if you can not see the future on this one then no one can help you.

If someone was able to coach the NFL Pro Bowl team for two year (just as if it was any normal team) do you think they would have a great record and maybe win a superbowl or 2? Of course they would, if you have all the best players you are going to win a few games (especially on the college level). Coker had that, when he took over the Miami Hurricanes in 2001 he was coaching at least 15 future NFL hall of famers. Everyone likes to talk about the Coker record and how his win percentage is tops in college, but if you take away the first 2 gimme years (Shalala could have coached the 2001 and 2002 canes to a national title) he has mediocre win percentage. Miami might go 5-7 and has not had this bad of a year since we went 3-8 in 1977. Coker coaches the U to the worst season in 30 years and his response is no one has told him he is out of a job yet.

Watching our games this year was painful and many times it felt like the opposing coach was calling our plays. Ouch.

Michigan is just about the only thing the sports world is talking about. We are going to clear this up for everyone, Michigan is NOT the 2nd best team in the nation! It is not Miami, it is not USC, it could however be the Gators (I hate saying that).

The score of the Ohio St. Michigan game was way closer than the game was. The final count should have been Ohio 42 Michigan 31. Ohio State tore up the Michigan defense with a spread offence and there are a couple teams that would do the same; Florida, Texas, and Louisville to name a few.

Michigan is not a bad team but they are not the 2nd best team in the county.

The BCS shows us again what those letters stand for: BULL CRAP SYSTEM!!!!!! A playoff system would generate just as much revenue (probably more if it was done right). I wonder what generates more money, the NFL playoffs or the BCS? Wow, maybe the NFL should adopt the BCS system.

on Cold Pizza this morning there was a rep Don something on talking about the Michigan vs Ohio St. matchup this weekend and he basically called Michigan fans a bunch of wimps. There were a few positive factors about the game: Campbell was outstanding again, the D was a rock in the second half, and Kirby got some game time. Give Freeman as much time as possible this season is a compete loss at this point and it is the best way to get him ready for next year.

Unfortunately the lack of playtime would not hurt Kyle and his NFL career ...he has none (burn)! On a similar note, why not get the NEW coach in there so has some time to work with the players and get a little something cooking for next year.

Michael Irving, one of the greatest Hurricane plays ever as well as an NFL Hall Of Famer has gone on the record as saying Coker needs to go. He goes on to say that it not personal and he is right, it is not personal. Get the F out Coker and fast.

Larry Coker will go on to be a coach somewhere else and will probably have a fine career. He did have one of the greatest starts a college coach could ever have (I hope he sent Butch Davis a thank you card), and now that he is done riding the Miami Hurricanes into the ground it is time for him to move on.

If you have questions about the coaching, look no further. Coker did not throw a challenge flag when Meriweather intercepted a pass in the endzone. He could be seen on the sideline yelling at the ref that is was a catch; however he did not throw the flag. This mistake cost us the lead in a game where our offence could not score a touchdown until 2 minutes left in the game.

There comes a time when you need to cut your losses, cut them, cut Coker and thank god Kyle Wright is graduating.

The draft is over and it is official… The Canes are the greatest football dynasty of the last quarter century.

Miami extended it current record of 12 straight NFL Drafts with at least 1 first round selection. 9 players selected to the pros: Kelly Jennings, Sinorice Moss, Rocky McIntosh, Devin “Anytime” Hester, Eric Winston, Rashad Butler, Leon Williams, Orien Harris, and Marcus Maxey.

Soon there will be 3 pro team comprised of only Hurricane players: The Redskins, The G-men, and the Ravens. As for some shout outs, Edge is now and Zona and ready to kick some behind (now that he PAID)! Wilfork, bring it home to NE!

He has the biggest expectations for starters, so anything short of the other team exploding upon see Bush would be a failure. For real thou; remember all the hype around a player named Michael Vick? Pay no attention to the recruiting hype surrounding some other schools. When you lean back on your leather sofa and kick off your shoes and flip on the opening game of the 2006 NCAA college football season it will be all good. The Canes have an incoming class of less than 20 and our outstanding Sophomores class is loaded with 41 Canes. Their are stars in this years recruiting class, but what will be really interesting is seeing the Sophomores step up. Is your plasma TV going to bring you joy this season? Yes it is! Kyle is going to step up, Larry is going to sober up, and Kenny Phillips is going to keep the DB dominance alive. The 2006 BCS Championship game awaits us.

The Knogo Gators

The University of Florida Gators football team has gone the way of the Knogo retail security system. Sure in the beginning they did OK, but ever since the parting with Spurrier the team has flat out sucked. Sentry Security Systems bought up Knogo back in the day to put the competition out of business, very similar to how FSU has been able to put the UF Gators under their thumb and just whoop ‘em.

Every Dog has its day and the Sentry EAS Company is practically out of business. The Miami Hurricanes are the Sensormatic of the college football world and have claimed their dominance in the state of Florida and the Counrty. The U is the only team in the county that regardless of rank is expected to win the National Championship year in and year out.

Canes played the Gators a couple years ago; let’s just say it wasn’t pretty. The Hurricanes made a once proud program look like a bunch of high school kids. The University of Florida much like every other program in the nation is scared to put Miami on the schedule at all. No one wants to play a team that good every year, it would ruin any chance they had of a National Title shot.

Whether we are talking Knogo, Gators, Sentry, or Seminoles, there’s no difference their all out of business and “The U” is on top!
